Use this bill split calculator for dinner, a shared order, or one household bill. The bill splitter shows each person’s share and who needs to pay whom. No account, no history, no upload.
Enter each item’s total price, then select the people sharing it. An item is divided equally among its selected people. Add separate items when portions or prices differ. Discounts apply before tax, service fees and tip. Each adjustment can be shared equally across everyone at the table, or in proportion to consumption.
Amounts are calculated in whole currency units: cents for USD, EUR and GBP, whole yen for JPY, and fils for KWD. Percentage amounts round half up. Shares round down first; leftover units go to the largest fractional remainders, with ties going in table order.
We apply that rule separately to each item and adjustment. Your shares always add up to the bill total.
Each balance is the amount paid minus the amount owed. For up to twelve people, we search all zero-sum balance groups and choose the grouping that needs the fewest transfers. Within each group, people who owe money pay those who covered extra. These are instructions, not actual money transfers.
Calculations stay in this page. Nothing is saved to a history or sent to a server. A share link contains the full bill in its URL fragment, including names and amounts. Anyone with the link can read it. Opening the link on another device restores the same bill in that browser. The bill itself is not stored on our server.
A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING
Yes. Add the items and choose who shared each one. Shared items are divided equally among their selected people. For a different ratio, split an item into separately priced lines.
Yes. Enter a percentage or fixed amount. Each has its own equal or proportional split setting. For tips based on the pre-discount subtotal, calculate the amount yourself and use the fixed-amount setting.
Choose “Multiple people paid” and enter each person’s actual payment. Payments must add up to the final bill before a settlement can be calculated. The result shows each person’s share, payment and balance.
One bill at a time, two to twelve people, and up to fifty items. Amounts must be non-negative and use the selected currency’s decimal places. The bill total must be below one billion currency units. No currency conversion, bank connection, receipt scanning, bulk import or saved history is included. Changing currency clears amounts so they cannot be mistaken for converted values.
